New Year, MORE You: A Different Kind of Resolution for Cycle-Breaking Moms

Instead of "new year, new you" this year, I want you to try something else:

New Year, MORE You.

Here's why this matters—especially if you're a mom breaking generational cycles while building a business.

You Don't Need a New Version of Yourself

Can we just be honest for a second?

The whole "new year, new you" narrative is exhausting. And it's built on a lie that you're somehow broken or insufficient as you are.

But here's what I know to be true after working with ambitious, cycle-breaking moms:

The highest, truest, most authentic version of you is already within you.

You don't need to invent her. You don't need to become someone you're not.

To step into her, you don't have to be anything new.

You have to unlearn a bunch of shit that isn't serving you.

You probably need to heal some parts of you that were hurt before.

Love on yourself a whole lot more.

And let go of shit that was never yours to carry in the first place.

What Cycle-Breaking Actually Looks Like

If you're reading this, there's a good chance you're already doing the work of breaking cycles in your parenting and relationships.

You're choosing different responses than the ones you learned. You're healing your traumas and your triggers. You’re modeling repair and genuine connection.

You're doing the deep, uncomfortable work of not passing on the same wounds you received.

That's not about becoming someone new. That's about shedding the conditioning that was never really you.

The perfectionism? Learned.
The discomfort you feel when resting? Learned.
The belief that your needs aren’t as important as your kids’ or partner’s? Learned.
The “mom guilt” when you take time for yourself? Learned.

And here's what's wild: those same patterns show up in your business, too.

Playing small in your marketing because visibility feels unsafe? That's a pattern.
Undercharging because you don't want to be "too much"? That's a pattern.
Hustling yourself into the ground to prove your worth? That's a pattern.

The Death and Rebirth (That Isn't Really New)

Sometimes this work feels like a death and rebirth. (Or many death and rebirth cycles, sometimes!)

And in a way, it is. Parts of your old operating system need to die.

But here's the thing: it's not really a NEW you emerging.

To me, it's more like you're shedding strategies and conditioning you learned to survive emotionally years ago. Maybe even generations ago.

Those survival strategies were brilliant when you needed them. They kept you safe. They helped you navigate difficult family dynamics or traumatic experiences.

But they were also hiding your true self.

And babe, your true self deserves to shine!

So by shedding them—in your parenting AND in your business—you're really just allowing more of the real you to step forward and shine.

More of your authentic voice in your marketing.
More of your true desires in how you structure your offers.
More of your values in how you show up as both a mom and an entrepreneur.

More YOU.

So No More "New Year, New You" BS, K?

Instead, I want you to ask yourself these questions as we move into 2026:

How can you do more of what you love in 2026?
Not just in business, but in life. What lights you up? What makes you feel alive? How can you build a business that creates MORE of that, not less?

How can you take up more space in the world because you're amazing and you don't need to hide anymore?
What would it look like to market your business from a place of confidence instead of hiding? To charge what you're worth? To stop making yourself small?

How can you be even just 1% more YOU in 2026?
In your messaging. In your offers. In your boundaries. In how you show up. What does 1% more authenticity look like for you?

And here's the both/and question:
How can you create a business that doesn't require you to choose between being the mom you want to be and the entrepreneur you want to be?

Because you shouldn't have to sacrifice one for the other.

You get to break cycles in your family AND in your business.
You get to heal AND grow.
You get to be ambitious about your impact as a parent AND as an entrepreneur.

So here's to more of YOU in 2026.

Not a new you.

Just... MORE your beautiful, authentic self. xx
